Pardon my English!

**********************************************************************
Well, as they say, the world is a global village therefore, being English the commercial language used worldwide, it's easier to make "business" in Shakespeare's language than in Camões's one! ;)
My business is to improve my English so that I can make some use of what I have learned. I have studied the language for many years and I think my reading and listening comprehension skills are at a good level , but I have not that much speaking or writing practise.
So, here I am with the purpouse of improving my English skills because I'm fed up to listen to my 8 years old cousin saying that I'd be better of speaking portuguese... Ok, she's in fact british but I want to be able to order my Macmenu on my own! :)

Saudade

In Wikipedia Saudade goes by " a Portuguese word for a feeling of longing for something that one is fond of, which is gone, but might return in a distant future". Don't ask for my translation...I just feel it. It's a part of me as a Portuguese. Like everyone in their country there's always something characteristic, some object that defines your culture, your hometown, your childhood. For everyone around the world that needs a piece of Portugal there's a online shop that sells everything you need and it is called Feitoria.

2 blablabla:

Saudade is much more than that. It is not fully stralated only into words but alos feelingfs. saudade also brings to memory the smell and the taste of what you miss. saudade is typical Portuguese, of those who once left something/someone not because they wanted it, but because they had to.
I have so many saudades of my country, my friends, family and Portuguese food. I also have saudades of the times I spent in Germany and the friends I made there. I miss speaking the language too. And when I am not in the Uk I also feel saudades of what I have got here.
...what can I say...don't even try to rationalize it. You have to feel it!
